Right smack in the middle of Lahaina town, this tree has to be the most photographed thing in the area. It’s hard to tell form this photo, but it’s huge! I like to show people the satellite view on Google Maps of this tree right next to the courthouse, and the tree wins.
One of the “Things We Still Want to Do on Maui” is see the Banyan tree the first week of December, when there is a holiday tree lighting ceremony and celebration. Granted, the weather won’t feel like the snowy, Chicago Christmases that I grew up with, but it would still be cool to see, nonetheless.
