Our second trip to Koki Beach was another stop we made the morning after spending the night in Hana. It was so peaceful and quiet so early in the day, with the exception of some pretty heavy waves rushing the shore. That didn’t stop a pair of golden retrievers from having a little fun in the ocean, though.
The red sand is pretty neat to see, but I was really impressed with the size of those cliffs near the northern end of the beach. It’s kinda hard to see from photos, but sanding at the base and looking up, it’s pretty tall!
The islet just out offshore, the ‘Alau Islet, is a little mesmerizing, too. Something magical about those coconut trees on top of an island inhabited only by birds, and some of the legends behind their origins.
LOVELY! I love the color of the sand. I the “coconut tree”island as i remember calling it always has only a few trees on it. i know someone goes and plant them for a particular reason. But i never been there. Koki Beach FTW!
