Napili Beach
Location: West Maui
Talk Story
Napili Beach might often be overlooked because of it’s popular neighbor, Kapalua Beach, or even D.T. Fleming Beach Park further north, but this nice stretch of sand is a hidden gem with those in the Kapalua area.

When we first went to Kapalua Beach a few years back, it was pretty easy to find, and while it the beach was crowded, we lucked out and found a parking spot right up front. Good clean livin’, I tell ya.
So when we wanted to find Napili Beach earlier this year, we thought it would be just as easy to spot. Well, not so much. Still, once we found the beach access and a place to park, we were all set.
The weather wasn’t the greatest that February morning (it was “winter”, after all), but the beach was still nice. I had quite a bit of room to walk around and try to get some nice photos when there was a break in the clouds. It’s certainly a place that we want to come back to during the summer months.
One interesting note about Napili that I read in the guidebook we were using was that an early ordinance was passed when the area was first being developed that no buildings in the area could be constructed to be taller than a palm tree. Not only does that gives Napili Beach a nice look and feel to it, it also frees up space on the beach because there aren’t 20 floors of beachgoers staying nearby racing for the same spot in the sand.
All in all, a nice beach.
