On our honeymoon, my husband and I drove the road to Hana. Unfortunately, he got car sick and puked most of the ride. It's quite a curvy road! It was a beautiful drive anyway. We didn't see Hana Bay, but did visit the black sand beach. And saw lots of beautiful sites!

We were here twice on our most recent trip to Hana, once on the way to our resort (Hotel Hana-Maui) and once on the way back the following day.

Doesn't seem like a big deal, but on the way there, we cruised passed most of the crowded areas that we'd see on previous trips and got to pick the more secluded sights to visit. Needless to say we were pretty stoked by the time we made it to town and had our picnic at Hana Bay.

The second visit I mentioned? Well, that's a funny story in and of itself. :)

The following day was when stopped for lunch at that snack shop only about an hour after I took an accidental plunge into the Oheo Gulch (aka scared pools). I was still pretty soggy, but my spirits weren't dampened. Ah, the magic of Hana.

Both days, there as a little stray dog running around from picnic table to picnic table looking for scraps. Some little white mix with a few brown spots if I recall. Didn't take a picture of the guy/gal, but interested in hearing if anyone else had seen him, too.
